How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Working on a Mazak i-600 5-axis machining centre integrated with a PALLETECH automation system, you'll play a key role in producing complex precision components while helping maximise machine utilisation through multi-pallet and lights-out manufacturing.

    The Role

Working alongside the programming and quality teams, you'll help optimise production, improve cycle times and maintain the exceptional manufacturing standards the company is known for.
    Key Responsibilities
⦁ Set and operate a Mazak i-600 5-axis machining centre with PALLETECH pallet automation.
⦁ Set fixtures, tooling, work offsets and tool lengths.
⦁ Verify first-off components and carry out in-process inspections.
⦁ Edit and optimise ISO/EIA programs at the machine.
⦁ Manage production priorities across the PALLETECH system.
⦁ Inspect components using micrometers, verniers, bore gauges and CMM reports where required.
⦁ Carry out routine machine maintenance and tool life management.
⦁ Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
⦁ Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
⦁ Work closely with Programming and Quality teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
⦁ Maintain high housekeeping and 5S standards.

    About You
    You'll ideally have:
⦁ Previous experience setting and operating CNC milling machines within a precision engineering environment.
⦁ Experience with Mazak machining centres, ideally the Mazak i-600.
⦁ Experience with PALLETECH automation would be highly advantageous.
    ⦁ Ability to edit ISO/EIA (G-code) programs.
⦁ Strong knowledge of tooling, fixtures and precision machining techniques.
⦁ Experience working to tight tolerances (typically ±0.01mm).
⦁ Ability to read engineering drawings and understand GD&T.
⦁ Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
⦁ A positive, proactive approach and the ability to work both independently and within a team.
⦁ Flexibility to work overtime when required.

    Desirable Experience
    ⦁ Multi-pallet production and lights-out machining.
    ⦁ Renishaw probing cycles.
    ⦁ Tool management systems.
⦁ Continuous improvement techniques including 5S, SMED and Kaizen.

    What's on Offer
    ⦁ £40,000 - £50,000 per annum (DOE)
    ⦁ Monday to Friday days (8:00am – 4:30pm)
    ⦁ Enhanced overtime rates
    ⦁ Company pension
⦁ 22 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, increasing to 25 days after three years' service
    ⦁ Uniform provided
