How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    CNC Miller – Setter / Programmer
    Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire
    Days Shift – Monday to Thursday 6:00am – 4:30pm

    WF Tech is recruiting for an experienced CNC Miller Setter / Programmer on behalf of a well-established, family-run precision engineering company based in Melton Mowbray.     The company specialises in the manufacture of high-quality precision components and operates a modern machining facility, including Doosan, HAAS and DMG CNC milling machines.

    The Role
    As a CNC Miller, you will be responsible for setting, operating and programming CNC milling machines, producing high-precision components from a range of materials.
    The role will involve:
    ⦁ Setting and operating Doosan, HAAS and DMG CNC milling machines
    ⦁ Programming and editing CNC programmes at the machine
    ⦁ Working from engineering drawings and 3D models
    ⦁ Using FeatureCAM CAD/CAM software to support programming and machining processes
    ⦁ Selecting tooling, setting work offsets and proving out new jobs
    ⦁ Producing low-volume, high-quality precision components
    ⦁ Carrying out in-process inspection and maintaining tight tolerances
    ⦁ Supporting continuous improvement within the manufacturing environment

    The Candidate
    The ideal CNC Miller will have:
    ⦁ Strong experience setting and operating CNC milling machines
    ⦁ Experience with Doosan, HAAS or DMG machining centres would be highly advantageous
    ⦁ Knowledge of Fanuc or similar CNC controls
    ⦁ Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
    ⦁ Experience working within a precision engineering or subcontract manufacturing environment
    ⦁ Understanding of tooling, speeds, feeds and machining strategies
    ⦁ Experience using CAD/CAM systems – FeatureCAM experience would be a major advantage
    Candidates who can confidently set machines and make programme adjustments will be particularly suited to this opportunity.

    Working Hours & Overtime
    The standard working week is:
    Monday – Thursday: 6:00am – 4:30pm
    There are also excellent overtime opportunities available:
    ⦁ Friday: 6:00am – 11:00am
    ⦁ Saturday: 6:00am – 11:00am
