How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    CNC Turner – Setter / Programmer
    Location: Watford, Hertfordshire
    Salary: £18.00 - £22.50 per hour
    Job Type: Permanent | Full Time

    WF Tech is recruiting on behalf of a well-established precision engineering company supplying high-quality machined components into the aerospace sector.
    Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced CNC Turner – Setter / Programmer to join a modern machining facility producing precision components in small to medium batch quantities. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable business that invests in its people, machinery and long-term growth.
    The Role

    Working on Doosan CNC lathes with Fanuc controls, you will be responsible for setting, programming and operating machines to manufacture complex precision components to exacting quality standards.
    You will be machining a variety of materials including:
    ⦁ Stainless Steel
    ⦁ Aluminium
    ⦁ Brass
    ⦁ Titanium
    ⦁ Acetal
    ⦁ Glass Filled Nylon
    This role will involve both prototype and repeat batch work, requiring a high level of attention to detail and the ability to consistently achieve tight tolerances.

    Key Responsibilities
    ⦁ Setting, programming and operating Doosan CNC lathes.
    ⦁ Producing precision machined components from engineering drawings.
    ⦁ Carrying out first-off inspection and in-process quality checks.
    ⦁ Manufacturing prototype and small to medium batch components.
    ⦁ Editing and optimising programs where required.
    ⦁ Maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy and housekeeping.
    ⦁ Working closely with the production team to ensure efficient manufacturing.

    The Ideal Candidate
    ⦁ Previous experience setting and programming CNC lathes with Fanuc controls.
    ⦁ Experience working on Doosan machines would be advantageous.
    ⦁ Able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
    ⦁ Comfortable machining a range of materials, including exotic alloys.
    ⦁ Strong understanding of precision engineering and working to tight tolerances.
    ⦁ Engineering apprenticeship preferred but not essential for candidates with proven industry experience.
    ⦁ Positive attitude with excellent attention to detail and quality.
