How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Clarence Recruitment is working in partnership with a successful and forward-thinking secondary school in Rugby, Warwickshire, seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Teacher of Food Technology to join their thriving Design & Technology department from the new academic term.
    This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, developing their practical cooking skills, nutritional knowledge and understanding of healthy lifestyles, while fostering creativity and confidence in the classroom.

    The Role

    The successful candidate will:

    Deliver engaging and practical Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4.
    Plan, prepare and assess high-quality learning experiences that inspire students.
    Develop students' understanding of nutrition, food science and healthy living.
    Monitor, assess and track pupil progress to ensure excellent outcomes.
    Create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
    Maintain high standards of classroom management and behaviour.
    Contribute positively to the Design & Technology faculty.
    Support enrichment activities and wider school initiatives.
    Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice and drive continuous improvement.

    The Ideal Candidate Will:

    Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
    Have strong subject knowledge in Food Technology.
    Be confident teaching Food Technology across KS3 and KS4.
    Have excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
    Be passionate about practical learning and student achievement.
    Demonstrate a commitment to raising attainment and student engagement.
    Be a proactive and enthusiastic team player.
    Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
