How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Opportunity

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Technical Sales Engineer to join a well-established, family-owned manufacturer specialising in brass and aluminium castings.

    Operating across four specialist divisions, the business offers a complete manufacturing solution, including foundry operations, CNC machining, laser cutting, polishing and plating, supplying high-quality cast components to customers across a variety of industries.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business opportunities while managing and growing existing customer relationships throughout the UK and Europe. This is a consultative technical sales role, requiring previous experience within the castings industry and the ability to understand customer requirements before delivering tailored manufacturing solutions.

    Key Responsibilities

    Develop new business opportunities across the UK and European markets.
    Manage and grow relationships with existing customers and key accounts.
    Identify customer requirements and provide technical solutions for cast components and manufacturing services.
    Prepare quotations and commercial proposals.
    Conduct customer meetings, site visits and technical presentations.
    Liaise closely with design, estimating and production teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
    Negotiate contracts and commercial agreements.
    Monitor market trends and identify new business opportunities.
    Represent the business at customer meetings, exhibitions and industry events where required.
    Maintain accurate sales forecasts and customer records.What We Need From You

    Essential

    Previous technical sales experience within the castings industry.
    Strong understanding of brass and/or aluminium castings and associated manufacturing processes.
    Proven track record of winning new business and developing customer relationships.
    Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
    Commercially minded with a proactive approach to business development.
    Full UK Driving Licence.
    Willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK and Europe.Desirable

    Experience selling foundry, machining or precision engineering services.
    Existing customer network within manufacturing, engineering or OEM markets.
    Engineering or technical qualification.
    Experience working with CRM systems.What We Offer
