How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Senior Quantity Surveyor (Groundworks / Civils)
    £70,000 - £75,000 + Car Allowance + Autonomy + Benefits Package
    Fleet - Hybrid working

    Fantastic opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor with a Groundworks / Civils background to join a growing main contractor working on exciting project offering progression to Commercial Manager.

    Are you a Quantity Surveyor with experience delivering civils and groundworks projects? Do you want to take ownership of a Commercial department?

    This established contractor specialises in commercial construction, with a strong reputation for delivering civils and groundworks projects across the retail sector. With continued growth into EV charging, modular construction, and store extensions, they are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to play a key role in their expanding commercial team.

    In this role, you will take commercial responsibility for projects from procurement through to final accounts, managing subcontractors, cost reporting, valuations, and client relationships to ensure successful project delivery.

    The ideal candidate will be a Quantity Surveyor with a Groundworks, Civils, or Main Contracting background. You will have strong commercial awareness, experience managing subcontractors, and a full UK driving licence.

    This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business offering varied projects, long-term progression, and the chance to develop into a senior commercial position.

    The role

    Manage the commercial aspects of Groundworks, Civils, and Commercial Construction projects.
    Oversee procurement, cost reporting, valuations, and final accounts.
    Manage subcontractor packages and build strong client and site relationships.
    Office based in Fleet four days a week with one day from home.
    The person

    * Quantity Surveying background
    * Civil / Groundworks or Main Contracting experience
    * Looking to progress into a Commercial Manager position
