How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Electronics Test and Repair Technician

    Location: Bristol
    Salary: Competitive + Benefits

    Are you an experienced technician with a background in electronics testing, fault-finding and repair? We are seeking a Test and Repair Technician to join a growing manufacturing business, supporting the testing, inspection and repair of electronic and electromechanical products to ensure they meet the highest quality standards before customer delivery.

    The Role

    Working as part of a skilled production and engineering team, you will be responsible for bench testing, fault diagnosis, soldering, inspection and repair activities. You'll use circuit diagrams and test procedures to identify faults, carry out repairs and ensure products perform to specification prior to release.

    Key Responsibilities

    Perform bench testing and functional testing of electronic and electromechanical equipment.
    Diagnose faults using circuit diagrams, schematics and test procedures.
    Carry out component-level fault finding and repair activities.
    Undertake soldering, de-soldering and rework of electronic components and assemblies.
    Inspect products and assemblies to ensure compliance with quality and operational standards.
    Complete testing documentation, repair reports and quality records accurately.
    Use test equipment including multimeters, power supplies and other diagnostic tools.
    Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and final product sign-off activities.
    Identify recurring issues and provide feedback to production and engineering teams.
    Assist with repair, rework and continuous improvement initiatives.
    Maintain a safe, clean and organised workshop environment. About You

    Previous experience in an electronics test, repair, service, manufacturing or production environment.
    Confident reading and interpreting circuit diagrams and technical drawings.
    Strong soldering and PCB repair skills.
    Experience with electronic bench testing and fault finding.
    Knowledge of electrical and electronic testing equipment.
    Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
    Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    Good record-keeping and documentation skills.
    Full UK driving licence desirable. What's on Offer?
