How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Our client is a leading engineering and technology organisation delivering innovative products and solutions into highly regulated industries. They are looking to appoint a Production Planner to play a pivotal role in coordinating production activities, ensuring materials, tooling and manufacturing resources are aligned to meet customer delivery commitments.

Working closely with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, Commercial and Project Management teams, you will be responsible for planning manufacturing workloads, managing material availability and supporting the successful delivery of products On Time In Full (OTIF).

    Key Responsibilities

    * Develop and maintain manufacturing plans to ensure customer orders are delivered on time and in full.

    * Plan production workloads, material requirements and tooling availability to support manufacturing schedules.

    * Interpret ERP/MRP planning recommendations, reviewing material requirements and coordinating order placement with Supply Chain.

    * Raise manufacturing requirements with subcontractors and external suppliers to support production demand.

    * Work collaboratively with Supply Chain to ensure purchase requisitions are raised promptly and materials are delivered in line with production schedules.

    * Monitor production progress alongside Production and Procurement teams, identifying potential issues and implementing corrective actions where required.

    * Liaise with Commercial, Project Management and Support teams to provide regular updates on production schedules, inventory status and order progress.

    * Work closely with Engineering to ensure manufacturing plans reflect the latest engineering changes, approved configurations and technical documentation.

    * Support Finance with month-end activities, including cycle counts, work-in-progress (WIP) reporting and material audits.

    * Review inventory levels and ensure consumable materials are replenished to maintain uninterrupted production.

    * Identify opportunities to improve MRP planning processes, supporting continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.

    * Provide guidance and support to colleagues on MRP-related processes and planning activities.

    * Act as deputy to the Manufacturing Manager when required.

    * Ensure all planning activities are carried out in accordance with company policies, quality standards and health, safety and environmental procedures.

    About You

You will have experience within a manufacturing planning environment and enjoy working collaboratively across multiple departments to ensure production plans are delivered efficiently and accurately.

You should be able to demonstrate:

    * A minimum of three years' experience in manufacturing planning, production scheduling or materials planning.

    * Strong experience using ERP/MRP systems, with knowledge of SAP or IFS considered advantageous.

    * Understanding of production planning, materials management, inventory control and work-in-progress (WIP) management.

    * Experience coordinating with Supply Chain, Engineering, Commercial and Production teams to achieve delivery objectives.

    * Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

    * Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives and applying Lean Manufacturing principles.

    * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.

    * The ability to maintain accurate records and work effectively under tight deadlines.

    * Previous experience leading or supervising a small manufacturing or shop floor team would be advantageous.

    * A degree in a relevant discipline is preferred, although equivalent industry experience will also be considered.

Due to the nature of this position, we require you to be eligible to achieve SC. As a result, you should have resided in the UK for the last 5 years.
