How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Join Our Vibrant Seaside School as a Long-Term English Cover Teacher! 🌊

Are you an inspiring and passionate English teacher looking for your next adventure? Picture yourself teaching in a seaside secondary school where the rhythm of the waves is just as calming as your lesson plans! This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled teacher to join our dynamic school community for a long-term role, with full teaching responsibilities.

Whether you're an experienced teacher looking to bring your expertise to a new setting, or you're keen to dive into a new challenge, we'd love to hear from you. You'll be working with a supportive team, a wonderful group of students, and have the chance to teach within a stimulating and vibrant environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

Planning & Delivering Lessons: Create and deliver engaging English lessons for Key Stage 3 & 4 students, tailored to the curriculum and ensuring each lesson is engaging, diverse, and creative.

Assessment & Feedback: Plan assessments, provide constructive feedback, and track student progress regularly. You'll ensure that each student's individual needs are met while maintaining high standards of achievement.

Student Support: Provide pastoral care and create an inclusive classroom where all students feel supported and encouraged to achieve their best. Participate in student welfare initiatives.

Collaborating with Colleagues: Work closely with other departments and staff members to enhance the teaching and learning experience. Be an active part of staff meetings and professional development opportunities.

Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and effective classroom environment that encourages learning. You'll be able to use your creative classroom management strategies to keep students engaged.

Extra-Curricular Contributions: While not mandatory, we would love for you to be involved in some extra-curricular activities, whether it's a book club, drama productions, or helping with school events.

    What We're Looking For:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.

Experience teaching English in a secondary school setting is required.

Passion for literature, language, and creative teaching methods.

Adaptability & Team Spirit: You'll be joining us on a long-term supply basis, so flexibility and the ability to adapt to our school's environment are key.

Excellent Communication Skills: You'll need to be able to engage and inspire students, as well as collaborate effectively with staff, parents, and the wider school community.

A love for the coast and all the wonderful aspects that living by the sea brings! 🌊

    What We Offer:

A Stunning Location: Teach with the sound of the ocean in the background - a true 'work by the sea' experience!

Supportive Team: Work alongside a passionate and welcoming team of educators.

Professional Development: Access to continuous professional learning to help you grow in your career.

Fantastic Facilities: Our school boasts excellent resources, including dedicated spaces for creative work and technology integration.

Work-Life Balance: Living by the coast offers plenty of outdoor opportunities, perfect for unwinding after a fulfilling day of teaching!

    How to Apply:

If you're ready to take on this exciting challenge and be part of our thriving seaside school, please send your CV outlining your teaching experience and passion for English education

Don't miss out on the chance to bring your expertise to our school and enjoy the peaceful beauty of seaside life! 🌊
