How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Customer Service Advisor

    Location: Chelmsford

    Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm, plus every other Saturday

    Salary: £12.80 an hour

    Contract: Temporary with the opportunity for a permanent contract

    Adecco are delighted to be recruiting for a Customer Service Advisor on behalf of our client. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced, customer-focused business where no two days are the same.

    As the first point of contact for customers, you will play a key role in delivering an exceptional customer experience. Working within a busy customer service team, you will manage enquiries via email, phone, live chat and instant messaging, ensuring all customer queries are handled efficiently and professionally.

    Key Responsibilities

    Act as the first point of contact for customers, providing a professional and friendly service at all times.
    Manage a high volume of customer enquiries via email, telephone, live chat and instant messaging.
    Investigate and resolve customer queries relating to orders, deliveries, returns and products.
    Provide product information and recommendations to support customer needs.
    Handle customer complaints effectively, identifying suitable resolutions within company guidelines.
    Prioritise workload to ensure all enquiries are responded to within agreed service levels.
    Maintain accurate customer records and update internal systems accordingly.
    Ensure all customer data is handled confidentially and in accordance with GDPR regulations.
    Liaise with internal departments to resolve customer issues and provide timely updates.

    The Ideal Candidate

    Previous experience within a customer service or customer support role.
    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
    Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively in a busy environment.
    Confident using Microsoft Office and customer service systems.
    Positive, proactive and customer-focused approach.
    Ability to remain calm and professional when handling complaints or challenging situations.
