How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to play a key role across the full commercial lifecycle of refurbishment projects, from tender stage through to final account. * Measure quantities and produce Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and tender breakdowns.

    * Obtain and assess quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.

    * Support the procurement of subcontract packages and materials.

    * Manage project costs throughout delivery, ensuring budgets are maintained.

    * Monitor variations, valuations, and change control procedures.

    * Assist with financial reporting, cost forecasting, and cash flow management.

    * Support the preparation and agreement of final accounts.

    * Work closely with project managers and operational teams to ensure commercial success across multiple refurbishment projects.

    Candidate Requirements

    * Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Estimator, or Quantity Surveyor/Estimator within the construction industry.

    * Commercial refurbishment experience is highly desirable.

    * Good understanding of estimating, cost planning, procurement, and commercial management.

    * Ability to interpret technical drawings and construction specifications.

    * Experience preparing tenders, pricing works, and managing project costs.

    * Strong negotiation, communication, and organisational skills.

    * Ability to build effective relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.

    * Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with estimating or commercial software would be advantageous.

    * Relevant construction qualification (HNC, HND, Degree, or equivalent) preferred, although practical experience will also be considered.

    What's on Offer

    * Competitive salary (dependent on experience).

    * Long-term career progression within a growing contractor.

    * Varied portfolio of commercial refurbishment projects.

    * Supportive and collaborative working environment.

    * Opportunity to develop your commercial career within an expanding business
