How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Do you have a Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in Children and Young People or Residential Care?
    Are you passionate about supporting young people with SEMH and Learning Disabilities to achieve positive outcomes?
    TeacherActive is proud to be working with a welcoming children's residential home in Newcastle, supporting young people aged 11 to 18 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Learning Disabilities (LD). The home provides a safe, nurturing environment where young people are encouraged to develop independence, build confidence and reach their full potential through consistent, therapeutic support.

    The home is looking to appoint a Children's Home Deputy Manager on a full-time, long-term basis, with the opportunity to secure a permanent position for the right candidate. The successful Children's Home Deputy Manager will support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home, lead and mentor the care team, ensure compliance with Children's Homes Regulations, and promote outstanding outcomes for every young person in the service.

    The successful Children's Home Deputy Manager will have:

    Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in Children and Young People or Residential Care (essential)
    Previous experience working within a children's residential home in a senior or leadership role
    Experience supporting young people with SEMH and Learning Disabilities (LD)
    A strong understanding of safeguarding, children's legislation and Ofsted standards
    Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills
    A positive, resilient and child-centred approach
