How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Shopify Web Developer & Digital Platforms Executive

    Chelsea, London – Office based

    £35,000 – £38,000

Are you a technically capable web specialist with strong hands-on Shopify experience?

Do you enjoy improving websites, solving technical problems and developing new ecommerce functionality?

Would you like to take ownership of the digital platforms for a long-established luxury interiors brand and help shape its future online offering?

We are recruiting for a Shopify Web Developer & Digital Platforms Executive to join a highly regarded British interiors business based in Chelsea.

This is a hands-on technical role with responsibility for the company’s Shopify website and connected digital platforms.

The business is looking for someone who can review the existing website, identify what is working well, highlight where improvements are needed and recommend the best direction for the future.

This may involve developing the current Shopify platform, introducing additional systems or helping the business move to an alternative platform if Shopify cannot support its longer-term plans.

A major future project will be the development of a new B2B trade portal, giving trade customers improved access to products, account information, pricing and ecommerce functionality.

    About the Business

We are working with a long-established British luxury interiors brand known for craftsmanship, design and exceptional visual quality.

The business works with interior designers, architects, trade customers and private clients across the UK and internationally.

This is an environment where technical performance and visual presentation are equally important. The website must function reliably, but it must also reflect the quality, detail and heritage expected from a premium interiors brand.

    The Opportunity

You will become the company’s main internal website and digital platforms specialist.

Your first priority will be to carry out a full review of the existing Shopify website, including its structure, functionality, performance, integrations and overall customer experience.

You will establish what is working well, what needs improving and whether the current platform can support the company’s future requirements.

From there, you will help create and deliver a clear development roadmap covering website improvements, ecommerce functionality, integrations and the future B2B trade portal.

You will complete appropriate development work directly while coordinating external developers, software providers and the company’s established IT partner where specialist support is required.

This is not a digital marketing, social media or graphic design role. The focus is on web development, ecommerce functionality, platform performance, integrations and technical problem-solving.

    What You Will Be Doing

You will take day-to-day technical ownership of the Shopify website, developing new features, troubleshooting issues and improving performance across desktop, tablet and mobile devices.

You will work with Shopify themes and Liquid templates and make front-end changes using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

You will configure and troubleshoot Shopify applications, improve ecommerce functionality and review page structure, navigation and customer journeys.

You will also help define the requirements for a future B2B trade portal. This will include understanding how trade customers need to access products, pricing, account information and online services.

You will assess whether the trade portal should be delivered through Shopify or another platform, scope the required functionality and integrations, complete suitable development work directly and coordinate external specialists where necessary.

The role will also involve managing and improving connections between the website and wider business systems, including an in-house CRM, inventory software and accounting platforms.

You will work with APIs, webhooks and third-party applications, investigate integration issues and identify opportunities to improve automation between systems.

You will monitor website speed, health, reliability and technical performance, implement technical SEO best practice and resolve issues affecting search visibility or customer experience.

You will maintain a clear development roadmap, document changes and act as the first point of escalation for website-related technical issues.

    What We Are Looking For

You will need at least three years’ commercial experience in web development, ecommerce development or technical website management.

Strong hands-on Shopify experience is essential, including experience working with Shopify themes and Liquid.

You should have strong HTML and CSS knowledge alongside practical JavaScript experience.

You will need experience developing and troubleshooting ecommerce functionality and working with applications, APIs, webhooks and third-party integrations.

You should understand technical SEO, website performance, testing and troubleshooting best practice.

You must be comfortable assessing an existing platform, recommending improvements and taking ownership of a business-critical website.

The role requires someone who can work independently, communicate clearly with non-technical colleagues and coordinate external developers or software providers when required.

Experience developing B2B ecommerce platforms, customer portals or trade websites would be highly beneficial.

Experience integrating CRM, ERP, inventory or accounting systems would also be advantageous, particularly if you have worked with Xero, Erplain or similar platforms.

Additional experience with WordPress, PHP, Git, GA4 or other ecommerce platforms would be welcomed.

Experience within luxury interiors, fabrics, wallpaper, furniture, premium retail or another design-led ecommerce environment would be beneficial but is not essential.

Candidates from Shopify agencies or digital studios will also be considered, particularly where they have supported luxury, retail, ecommerce or visually led clients.

The Type of Person Who Will Succeed

This role would suit someone who is technically capable but also appreciates strong presentation and user experience.

You will enjoy investigating problems, improving systems and finding practical solutions.

You should be organised, proactive and comfortable acting as the company’s main internal website specialist.

You will need to balance immediate fixes with longer-term planning and understand when to complete development directly and when additional specialist support is required.

You will take ownership of issues, communicate clearly and take pride in delivering accurate, reliable and high-quality work.

    Why Apply?

This is an opportunity to take genuine ownership of an established brand’s website and digital platforms.

You will shape the company’s future technical direction, improve an existing Shopify website and help define and deliver a new B2B trade portal.

You will work across ecommerce, APIs, CRM, inventory and accounting integrations while making a visible impact from the outset.

You will join a respected business with a strong design heritage and work autonomously while having access to established external technical support.

If you have strong Shopify development experience, enjoy technical problem-solving and are confident taking ownership of a website and its connected systems, we would love to hear from you
