The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff and the SEND team to support students with a variety of additional needs, including:
Social, Emotional and Behavioural needs (SEMH)
Lower cognitive ability
Low-level Autism (ASD)
Dyslexia
ADHD
Some students with physical disabilities
Personal care support (if you are comfortable providing this)You will play an important role in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment while encouraging students to develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience working with children or young people with additional needs (school, care, youth work or similar experience is welcomed)
Is patient, empathetic and resilient
Can build positive relationships with students and staff
Is confident supporting students with behavioural, social and emotional needs
Is comfortable providing personal care where required (desirable but not essential)
