How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Freelance Design Manager – Façade / Fire Remediation – Central London
    Rate: £350 – £400 per day (CIS/Ltd)

    O’Neill and Brennan are currently working with a leading façade contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Freelance Design Manager to join their team, working on a portfolio of high-profile façade replacement and fire remediation projects across Central London.

    This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established specialist contractor with a strong pipeline of secured work. You will play a key role in managing the design process from pre-construction through to project completion, coordinating consultants, manufacturers and client teams to ensure programmes are achieved and technical information is delivered on time.

    You will be joining an experienced and collaborative team with long-term freelance work available on technically challenging remediation schemes.

    Responsibilities

    Managing the design process from pre-construction through to project completion
    Coordinating architects, consultants, façade manufacturers and subcontractors to ensure design information is issued in line with programme
    Reviewing technical drawings, specifications and design documentation for compliance and buildability
    Managing the design approval process with clients, consultants and statutory authorities
    Identifying and resolving design and technical issues throughout the project lifecycle
    Working closely with commercial, project management and site teams to ensure successful project delivery
    Attending design, progress and client meetings while maintaining accurate design trackers and programme updates

    Requirements

    Previous experience working as a Design Manager within the construction industry
    Experience working for a façade subcontractor, façade manufacturer or on façade/fire remediation projects is essential
    Strong understanding of façade systems, cladding and fire remediation works
    Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams and managing technical submissions
    Excellent communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills
    Able and willing to commute to Central London
