How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Daily Rate: £145 - £206 per day (dependent on experience)
    Contract Type: Rolling Contract

    This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate Media specialist to join a supportive and ambitious school where creativity, critical thinking, and digital literacy are highly valued. The successful candidate will inspire students across Key Stages 4 and 5, helping them develop both the analytical and practical skills required to succeed in today's ever-changing media landscape.

    The Role

    The successful candidate will:

    Deliver engaging and inspiring Media Studies lessons across KS4 and KS5.
    Develop students' understanding of media theory, digital culture, film, advertising, and contemporary media platforms.
    Support learners in developing practical media production and creative skills.
    Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that promotes achievement and participation.
    Assess, monitor, and track student progress, providing effective feedback.
    Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities including media projects and creative activities.
    Maintain high standards of classroom management and student behaviour.
    Work collaboratively within the department and wider school community.

    The Ideal Candidate

    We are seeking a Media Studies Teacher who:

    Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
    Has a degree in Media Studies, Film, Communications, or a related subject.
    Possesses strong subject knowledge and a passion for media, technology, and digital culture.
    Can deliver engaging lessons that inspire learners of all abilities.
    Demonstrates excellent classroom management and communication skills.
    Is committed to raising achievement and supporting student success.
    Works effectively as part of a collaborative team.
