How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

MEP Quantity Surveyor – Nuclear Projects | North West

    Location: North West England
    Salary: Competitive + Excellent Benefits

    MEP Quantity Surveyor

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious MEP Quantity Surveyor to join a growing team delivering major engineering and infrastructure projects across the North West. This role offers the chance to work on nationally significant developments while building a long-term career within the nuclear sector.

As an MEP Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of complex mechanical, electrical, and plumbing packages, supporting project delivery from procurement through to final account. Working alongside experienced commercial and project teams, you’ll gain exposure to high-value projects and industry-leading best practice in one of the UK’s fastest-growing sectors.

Whether you’re already working within nuclear or looking to transition from building services, infrastructure, energy, or major construction projects, this is an excellent opportunity to further your career.

    The Role

As the MEP Quantity Surveyor, you will:

    * Manage the commercial aspects of MEP packages on major construction and engineering projects.

    * Prepare cost plans, valuations, forecasts, and final accounts.

    * Administer subcontractor procurement, payments, and contract management.

    * Monitor project costs and identify opportunities to improve commercial performance.

    * Manage variations, change control, and contractual documentation.

    * Work closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to support successful project delivery.

    * Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and key stakeholders.

    * Produce accurate commercial reports and provide regular financial updates.

    About You

We’re looking for an MEP Quantity Surveyor who has:

    * Experience in a Quantity Surveying role within MEP, mechanical, electrical, or building services projects.

    * A good understanding of commercial management, contract administration, and cost control.

    * Experience managing subcontractor accounts and project valuations.

    * Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.

    * The ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.

    * A degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.

    * Knowledge of NEC or JCT contracts would be advantageous.

Previous nuclear experience is not essential. We welcome applications from candidates working in commercial construction, utilities, infrastructure, manufacturing, energy, pharmaceuticals, or industrial projects who are looking to establish a career within the nuclear industry.

    What’s on Offer?

    * The opportunity to work on prestigious projects supporting the UK’s growing nuclear sector.

    * Excellent career progression with clear opportunities to develop into Senior Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager positions.

    * Exposure to complex, high-value MEP projects that will enhance your commercial and technical expertise.

    * Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

    * Ongoing professional development, training, and support towards chartership where applicable.

    * A collaborative and supportive working environment with long-term project security.

    Apply Today

If you’re an ambitious MEP Quantity Surveyor looking to accelerate your career and work on technically challenging projects, we’d love to hear from you. Join a business delivering major infrastructure programmes across the North West and take the next step towards a rewarding career in the nuclear sector.
