How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

MEP Quantity Surveyor – Hinkley Point C

    Location: Hinkley Point C, Somerset
Salary: Competitive + Salary Uplift + Living Away Allowance + Lodge Allowance + Excellent Benefits

    MEP Quantity Surveyor

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious MEP Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team delivering mechanical and electrical works at Hinkley Point C. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on one of the UK’s largest and most prestigious infrastructure projects while building a long-term career within the nuclear sector.

As an MEP Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of major MEP packages, supporting the successful delivery of complex mechanical and electrical installations from procurement through to final account. Working on a project of this scale will provide unrivalled experience, excellent career development, and exposure to one of the most technically advanced construction programmes in Europe.

Whether you’re already working within the nuclear industry or looking to make the move from building services, infrastructure, energy, industrial, or major construction projects, this is an excellent opportunity to develop your career on a landmark project.

    The Role

As the MEP Quantity Surveyor, you will:

    * Manage the commercial delivery of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing packages on the Hinkley Point C project.

    * Prepare cost plans, valuations, forecasts, and final accounts.

    * Administer subcontractor procurement, payments, and contract management.

    * Manage variations, compensation events, and change control.

    * Monitor project costs and provide accurate commercial reporting.

    * Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and site teams to support successful project delivery.

    * Build strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and key stakeholders.

    * Ensure commercial processes are followed while helping deliver the project safely, on programme, and within budget.

    About You

We’re looking for an MEP Quantity Surveyor who has:

    * Experience in Quantity Surveying within MEP, mechanical, electrical, or building services projects.

    * A solid understanding of cost control, contract administration, and commercial management.

    * Experience managing subcontractor accounts and project valuations.

    * Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.

    * Experience working under NEC contracts is highly desirable.

    * A degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.

Previous nuclear experience is beneficial but not essential. We welcome applications from candidates with experience in major construction, infrastructure, utilities, energy, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, or industrial projects who are looking to establish a long-term career within the nuclear sector.

    What’s on Offer?

    * The opportunity to work on Hinkley Point C, one of the UK’s largest nuclear construction projects.

    * A competitive salary with a project salary uplift reflecting the scale and location of the role.

    * Living Away Allowance for eligible candidates working away from home.

    * Lodge Allowance to help cover accommodation costs during the project.

    * Long-term project security with excellent career progression opportunities.

    * Ongoing training and professional development within a growing nuclear business.

    * A comprehensive benefits package and the chance to work alongside some of the UK’s leading engineering and commercial professionals.

    Apply Today

If you’re an ambitious MEP Quantity Surveyor looking to accelerate your career on one of the UK’s most significant engineering projects, we’d love to hear from you. Join the team at Hinkley Point C, develop your expertise on a landmark nuclear project, and be part of delivering infrastructure that will help power the UK for generations to come.
