How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Music Teacher

    A large secondary school based in Ealing, London, is looking for a Music Teacher to join their team from September on a long-term contract.

    The school is seeking someone to start in September, with the role expected to continue on a long-term basis. This position is full-time, although part-time applicants will also be considered. Working hours are from 8:30am to 3:30pm.

    Salary will be paid in line with the Inner London MPS/UPS pay scale.

    On-site parking is available for staff.

    Deliver engaging and inspiring music lessons that develop students' practical performance, composition, listening, and appraisal skills across Key Stages 3 and 4.
    Support students' musical development by encouraging creativity, confidence, and self-expression through a broad and inclusive curriculum.
    Prepare students for GCSE Music, ensuring they are challenged and supported to achieve their full academic and creative potential.
    Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed learning environment where all students are encouraged to participate and succeed.
    Contribute to the wider life of the school through music enrichment opportunities, performances, and extracurricular activities where appropriate.The school is a welcoming and inclusive secondary school with high aspirations for every student.     Qualifications and Person Specification:

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
    A relevant degree
    Excellent subject knowledge with the ability to inspire and motivate students
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    Approachable, enthusiastic, and committed to high standards of teaching and learningM1 - M6 salaries are aligned to experience within the Main Pay Range. Teachers typically progress annually from M1 through to M6. UPS appointments require formal application. TLR payments are available for agreed, sustained additional responsibilities outside of regular teaching duties.
