How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Spencer Clarke Group are assisting a Local Authority in the appointment of an experienced Leaving Care Specialist (Personal Advisor) to join their Leaving Care Team in Wakefield!

    As a Leaving Care Specialist you will be expected to effectively support young people who are "Looked After" (in care) or have recently left care in the important component parts that make up their individual lives in order to maximise their life opportunities and help them reach their full potential.

    Key responsibilities will include the following:

    To facilitate, directly and indirectly the assessment of need and engaging with the ongoing monitoring and reassessment of need over time.
    Provide practical, personal and emotional support to children and young people in order to meet assessed needs and promote their health, physical emotional development and wellbeing.
    Support and advise young people leaving care in key areas including health, benefits, education, training, employment, accommodation/housing and personal wellbeing.
    Identify ad support young people to overcome barriers to learning.
    Enable and empower young people to make decisions in their lives and to self-advocate and advocate on behalf of young people who do not have the skills to do this.
    Facilitate the construction of a Pathway Plan, from the assessment which establishes a viable response to established need over time.To be a successful candidate for this role you must have the following:

    NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
    Experience of direct work with children, young people and families.
    Full UK Drivers License.
