How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Job Title: ICT Teacher (Primary)
    Location: Tower Hamlets, London
    Start Date: September 2026
    Salary: M3 – UPS3 dependent on experience

Can you transform a classroom into a space where pupils code, create and confidently explore the digital world?
Are you ready to help young learners become safe, curious and imaginative users of technology?
Could your next lesson inspire a future programmer, designer, engineer or digital innovator?
TeacherActive is delighted to be supporting a highly regarded independent primary school in Tower Hamlets, London, with the recruitment of an enthusiastic and creative ICT Teacher (Primary) for September 2026.

The school offers an ambitious and enriching education within a welcoming environment where pupils are encouraged to think independently, aim high and develop a genuine love of learning. With excellent facilities, high academic expectations and a strong focus on professional development, this is an exciting setting for a teacher who enjoys bringing fresh ideas into the classroom.

The successful ICT Teacher (Primary) will deliver engaging and age-appropriate lessons that make technology accessible, purposeful and enjoyable. Teaching will cover key areas including coding, computational thinking, digital literacy, online safety and the confident use of a range of digital tools.

You will design practical and imaginative learning experiences that allow pupils to experiment, collaborate and solve problems. Lessons should encourage creativity while ensuring children understand how to use technology safely, responsibly and effectively.

Working alongside class teachers and the wider leadership team, you will contribute to the continued development of the school’s computing provision, assess pupil progress and help embed technology across the wider curriculum. The appointed ICT Teacher (Primary) will be energetic, knowledgeable and committed to helping pupils develop skills that will prepare them for an increasingly digital future.

    The successful candidate will have:

Qualified Teacher Status and experience teaching within a UK school
Strong knowledge of the primary computing curriculum
Confidence teaching coding, digital literacy, computational thinking and online safety
Excellent classroom organisation and behaviour management skills
A creative and practical approach to planning and delivering lessons
A genuine enthusiasm for technology and primary education
In return, you can expect to receive:

A dedicated team of consultants to support you throughout the registration and onboarding process
Access to CPD courses and certificates through the My-Progression channel
Competitive pay ranging from £45,787 to £64,684 per annum
The opportunity to work within a supportive and high-achieving independent school
TeacherActive Referral Scheme – Receive up to £100 when you refer a friend. Terms and Conditions apply
Our staff are paid on a PAYE basis, ensuring the correct level of Tax and National Insurance is paid, with no unexpected administration charges deducted from your pay.

Are you ready to connect pupils with the possibilities of technology? Click APPLY NOW, and Shahana Chowdhury will be in touch to discuss the ICT Teacher (Primary) opportunity.
