How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Tool Change Setter/Fitter (Injection & Blow Moulding)

    Location: Blackburn
    Hours: Monday to Friday

    Salary: £35,000 - £37,000 per annum, depending on experience

    We're recruiting for an experienced Tool Change Setter/Fitter to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a modern production environment, working with injection and blow moulding machinery while playing a key role in maximising production efficiency.

    The Role

    As a Tool Change Setter/Fitter, you'll be responsible for carrying out efficient tool changes, preparing machinery for production and supporting the engineering team to minimise downtime and maintain safe, efficient operations.

    Key Responsibilities

    Carry out tool changes on injection and blow moulding machines in line with setting sheets and target changeover times.
    Prepare and install all secondary equipment required for production.
    Complete all tool change documentation accurately and on time.
    Identify and report defects with mould tools, dies, machinery or associated equipment.
    Support basic maintenance activities on production equipment, including granulators and power packs where required.
    Return tooling to the toolroom following production runs.
    Maintain excellent housekeeping standards and promote safe working practices at all times.
    Work closely with production and engineering teams to reduce downtime and improve operational efficiency.

    About You

    To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:

    Previous experience within a manufacturing environment.
    Experience carrying out tool and die changes on injection and/or blow moulding machines.
    The ability to work from setting sheets and follow structured processes.
    FLT licence or previous forklift experience.
    Lifting and slinging experience.
    A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
    A strong understanding of health and safety within manufacturing.
    Good verbal and written communication skills.
    A willingness to undertake further training where required.

    What Success Looks Like

    Within your first year, you'll:

    Meet or exceed standard tool change target times without compromising safety or quality.
    Help reduce machine downtime and improve production efficiency.
    Complete all tool change documentation accurately.
    Develop a thorough understanding of all moulding machinery and associated equipment.
    Confidently support the Engineering team with routine maintenance activities.
