How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Now is an exciting time to join a rapidly growing leading developer of optical sensing technologies, who is looking for an Electronics Design Engineer.

    Joining a multidisciplinary team, your main responsibility will be to support the design, development and testing of electronics, hardware and PCBs, for optoelectronic systems.

    You will design and develop new electronic products and PCBs which meet customer requirements.

    In addition, you will be responsible for bench testing, fault finding and troubleshooting of electronic assemblies in the lab.

    Working closely with the optical, mechanical and software engineers, you will be involved in the integration of the electronics into the new sensing systems.

    From time to time, you will also be required to reverse engineer third-party electronic items.

    Experience:

    We are looking for a graduate with 3-5 years post-graduation commercial experience in Electrical Design, including PCB Design, Embedded Systems, Microcontrollers, gained in a manufacturing / product development environment.

    Through your studies and working experience you should have a strong understanding of embedded systems concepts, and PCB design tools.

    Qualifications:

    To succeed, you should have achieved a Masters or Bachelors in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, coupled with a strong understanding of the fundamentals of analogue and digital electronics principles.

    Additional Information:

    Candidates must be resident in the UK and be eligible to live and work in UK, without ever requiring sponsorship. Copies of Passports and Visas will be requested for verification.

    Salary / benefits: Dependent upon experience, plus benefits.
