Shropshire based or largely remote · Full-time · Circa £50,000 to £70,000, depending on experience and ambition · ACA or ACCA qualified
If you're an audit manager who's ready to lead, and you can picture yourself becoming a Responsible Individual and then a Director, this is a firm that will actually get you there.
The company
An established, independent firm of Chartered Accountants with offices in Shrewsbury and Telford, and a strong name across Shropshire and the wider region.
Around 90 people. Big enough for varied, interesting work, small enough that you're a person and not a number.
Values-led and genuinely people-first, with a culture built on doing the right thing and helping each other grow.
Growing, and investing in its audit team, which is exactly why this role exists.
The role
Lead audits end to end, owning your assignments from planning through to completion.
Take on a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses across a real mix of sectors, including some larger, meatier clients.
Be the trusted point of contact your clients actually call, building relationships that last.
Supervise, mentor and review the seniors and trainees, and bring the next generation on.
Work closely with the Partners on technical matters and on growing the client base.
Reporting to the Audit Manager, with the room and the backing to step up.
What's on offer
Circa £50,000 to £70,000, with the top of that range there for someone ready to work towards RI.
A mapped-out path to Responsible Individual status and on to Director, with real support to get there.
Genuinely flexible working. Remote is real here, not a token gesture, with one of the directors already working largely from another county.
Generous holiday, pension, life cover and a health cash plan.
Full professional and study support, and proper investment in your development.
What makes it great
Progression that's real, not a line on a job spec. If you want RI and Director, there's a genuine gap at the top to grow into.
You'll work with the Partners from the start, not three rungs below them.
A varied client base that keeps the work interesting.
A firm that's growing and wants you to grow with it.
Flexibility that lets you do your best work without giving up your life.
