How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Drive the college's SEND strategy and provision growth alongside the Director of Student Services.
Oversee EHCPs, High Needs provision, Exam Access Arrangements (EAA)  and JCQ compliance.
Build strong relationships with curriculum teams, parents, local authorities and external agencies.
Use data and quality improvement initiatives to enhance learner outcomes and inclusion.
Maximise funding and manage the budget allocated for ALS and SEND provision.

    You will bring :

Experience from an FE or school setting as a Head of ALS, SENCO, Deputy SENCO or similar SEND leadership role
A Level 5 SEND qualification or degree (or equivalent experience)
Strong knowledge of High Needs funding, EHCPs and SEND legislation.
The confidence and enthusiasm to lead your team, whilst managing complex learner support and working collaboratively with external partners.
Inspirational leadership skills with a passion for inclusive education and the experience to help every learner reach their full potential.

If you're a Deputy SENCO ready to take the next step, an Inclusion Manager, SEND Provision Manager, Learning Support Manager, or an existing Head of Additional Learning Support seeking a rewarding leadership role with no teaching commitment, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today
