How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Workshop Controller - Motorcycle - Main Dealer

    Southampton | Permanent | Up to £35,000 DOE

    This is a great opportunity for an experienced automotive professional to join a well-established motor trade business in Southampton as a Workshop Controller. The business is looking for someone who can take ownership of the workshop operation, support the team, and help deliver excellent customer service.

    This position would suit someone who is ready to take the next step, with the confidence to manage workloads, coordinate technicians, and ensure the smooth running of the workshop.

    The Role

    As Workshop Controller, you will be responsible for the smooth running of the workshop, including:

    * Managing workshop bookings and daily workload.

    * Coordinating and supporting a team of technicians.

    * Ensuring jobs are completed efficiently and to a high standard.

    * Communicating with customers and keeping them updated throughout the repair process.

    * Supporting the service department with day-to-day operations.

    * Helping maintain excellent levels of customer satisfaction.

    About You

    The successful candidate will have:

    * Previous experience within the motorcycle trade.

    * A background as a Service Advisor or similar role.

    * Confidence managing people and personalities within a busy workshop environment.

    * Strong organisational and communication skills.

    * The ability to prioritise workloads and keep operations running smoothly.

    * A full UK driving licence - Car and Motorcycle .

    A passion for motorcycles would be a real advantage, as would experience within a motorcycle dealership environment.
