How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Are you a fully qualified Electrician looking to move off the tools and into education?

Do you want to move into a rewarding role where you can support apprentices, pass on your knowledge, and help develop the next generation of Electrical professionals?

Join a leading College in the North East with excellent facilities, a strong Electrical provision, and a fantastic reputation for developing both learners and staff. With continued growth across apprenticeships, full-time programmes, and advanced manufacturing, this is a great opportunity to build a long-term career within education.

As an Electrical Apprenticeship Skills Coordinator, you'll support Electrical apprentices throughout their programme, carrying out workplace visits, reviews, assessments, and remote support where required. You'll work closely with apprentices and employers, helping learners develop their knowledge, skills, and behaviours while ensuring they remain on track throughout their apprenticeship.

The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified Electrician with strong all-round industry experience. You should hold a Level 3 Electrical qualification or be able to demonstrate full electrical competence through your Gold Card. 18th Edition is essential, while 2391 Inspection & Testing, Solar PV, Battery Storage, EV Charging, AV, or micro-renewables experience would be highly beneficial. Previous assessing experience is desirable but not essential, as full assessor training can be supported.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrician to transition into education, gain assessor qualifications, and make a genuine difference to apprentices entering the Electrical industry.

    The role:

Support Electrical apprentices through workplace reviews, assessments, and progress meetings.
Manage a caseload of around 40-45 apprentices.
Carry out apprentice reviews approximately every 12 weeks.
Work across college, employer sites, remote visits, and home-based administration.
Support apprentices working across domestic, commercial, industrial, Solar PV, AV, and micro-renewable environments.
Use digital systems including Microsoft Teams and electronic learning platforms.
Flexible 37-hour working week, typically around 8:30am - 5:00pm with an earlier Friday finish.
Mileage allowance paid for site visits.
Full assessor training provided for candidates moving from industry.
Long-term progression opportunities, including potential future movement into lecturing.
    The person:

    Fully qualified Electrician.
Level 3 Electrical qualification or Gold Card.
    18th Edition required.
    2391 Inspection & Testing desirable.
Solar PV, Battery Storage, EV Charging, AV, or micro-renewables experience advantageous.
Strong all-round Electrical background, ideally across commercial or industrial environments.
Previous assessing experience desirable but not essential.
Good IT skills and confidence using Microsoft systems.
Full UK driving licence and own vehicle required.
Passionate about supporting apprentices and helping young people develop.
Reliable, committed, and looking for a long-term opportunity within education.Rise Technical Recruitment Ltd acts an employment agency for permanent roles and an employment business for temporary roles.
