How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    The Quality Inspector will play a key role in ensuring products meet exacting standards within the industrial and manufacturing sector. This position is based in Deeside and requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to upholding quality measures.

    Description

    As the Quality Inspector you will be tasked with the following;

    Carry out inspection activities on materials, components, fabricated items, welded assemblies, machined parts, and finished products in line with engineering drawings, customer specifications, and inspection requirements.
    Conduct site-wide inspection duties where required, supporting quality needs across different departments and operational areas within iCAM Engineering.
    Complete goods-in inspection checks to confirm that supplied materials, products, and components meet purchase order requirements, certification requirements, and expected quality standards.
    Undertake in-process inspections during manufacturing, fabrication, welding, machining, and assembly activities to ensure work is completed correctly and defects are identified at the earliest opportunity.
    Carry out final inspection checks prior to product release, dispatch, or customer delivery to confirm conformity with specification and quality requirements.
    Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, weld symbols, inspection criteria, and quality documentation.
    Use appropriate inspection and measuring equipment such as callipers, micrometres, gauges, tape measures, squares, levels, and other calibrated equipment as required.
    Ensure that all inspection equipment used is suitable, calibrated, in good condition, and correctly controlled in accordance with company procedures.
    Accurately complete inspection records, check sheets, reports, non-conformance records, and any other quality documentation required by the Quality Management System.
    Identify, report, and record non-conforming products, materials, processes, or workmanship in line with company non-conformance procedures.
    Support the Quality Manager and Quality Technician with investigations into quality issues, customer complaints, internal rejects, supplier defects, and process failures.
    Assist with root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions to reduce repeat defects and improve quality performance.
    Liaise with production teams, supervisors, welders, fabricators, machinists, and other employees to communicate inspection findings and support the resolution of quality concerns.
    Support the control, identification, segregation, and disposition of non-conforming products to prevent unintended use or release.
    Ensure that products are inspected and released only when they meet the required specification, acceptance criteria, and customer requirements.
    Assist with maintaining traceability of materials, components, inspection records, certification, and product identification where required.
    Support continuous improvement activities across the business by identifying opportunities to improve inspection methods, quality controls, and production processes.
    Follow company procedures, quality plans, inspection test plans, standard operating procedures, and work instructions relevant to the role.
    Support internal audits, external audits, customer audits, and UKAS ISO 9001:2015 activities where required.
    Promote a positive quality culture by encouraging right-first-time working, attention to detail, and ownership of quality standards across the site.
    Work in a safe and responsible manner, following company health and safety procedures, risk assessments, method statements, and site rules.
    Maintain good housekeeping standards within inspection areas and any other areas where inspection activities are carried out.
    Escalate significant quality concerns, repeated defects, supplier issues, or customer-related concerns to the Quality Manager in a timely manner.
    Support the Quality Manager with any additional inspection, quality control, documentation, or improvement activities required to meet business and customer needs.Profile

    A successful Quality Inspector should have:

    Experience in quality inspection within the industrial or manufacturing sector.
    A strong understanding of quality control processes and tools.
    Experience of using CMM equipment
    Attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
    Good communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
    Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
    Proficiency in using inspection equipment and tools.Job Offer
