Vision for Education is looking for enthusiastic and caring graduates to join our SEN Teaching Assistant supply team, supporting specialist primary and secondary schools across Hereford from September 2026.
As a leading education recruitment agency, we provide staff to SEND schools on a day-to-day basis. You'll initially join our supply register, offering flexible work while gaining hands-on classroom experience, with regular opportunities to move into long-term, part-time or full-time school placements.
This role is ideal for graduates considering a future career in teaching, educational psychology, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, social work or other child-focused professions.
The Role
You'll support children and young people with a range of additional needs, including:
Autism (ASC)
ADHD
Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)
Moderate to Profound Learning Difficulties (MLD, SLD & PMLD)
Complex physical disabilities
Your responsibilities may include:
Supporting pupils 1:1 or in small groups
Helping children access learning and develop confidence
Supporting communication, behaviour and emotional wellbeing
Assisting with personal care where required
Working closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals
Who We're Looking For
We'd love to hear from graduates (or those graduating this summer) studying subjects such as:
Psychology
Education Studies
Childhood or Early Childhood Studies
Special Educational Needs and Inclusion
Health and Social Care
Social Work
Youth and Community Work
Sports Coaching or Sports Science
Child Development
Counselling
Occupational Therapy
Speech and Language Therapy
Or any other child, education or care-related degree
We're looking for graduates who are:
Passionate about supporting children and young people
Compassionate, patient and resilient
Eager to gain practical school experience
Excellent communicators with a positive attitude
Previous experience working with children or vulnerable adults through placements, volunteering, coaching or part-time work is beneficial but not essential.
