How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Vehicle Technician – Main Dealer - No Weekends
    Christchurch | Permanent | £30,000 - £35,000 OTE
    We have an exciting opportunity for a Vehicle Technician to join a highly respected, long-established main dealer in Christchurch. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a stable workshop with an excellent reputation, a supportive management team, and a workforce where many employees have built long and successful careers.     The Role:
    * Carry out vehicle servicing, maintenance, and repairs to manufacturer standards.
    * Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults using the latest diagnostic equipment.
    * Complete routine inspections, MOT preparation, and general vehicle checks.
    * Work efficiently while maintaining excellent standards of quality and safety.
    * Keep up to date with the latest vehicle technology, including hybrid and electric systems.
    * Work as part of an experienced and supportive workshop team.
    What's on offer?
    * Monday to Friday only – 8:15am to 5:30pm.
    * No weekend working.
    * Ongoing manufacturer and technical training.
    * MOT Tester training for those who aren't already qualified.

    Who we're looking for
    We're keen to speak with qualified Vehicle Technicians who take pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service.
    * Level 3 qualification is preferred; however, we're also happy to consider candidates with an NVQ/IMI Level 2 who are looking to continue developing their skills.
    * Main dealer experience is advantageous but not essential.
    * A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a strong team ethic are key.
