How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Your new company
This is an ambitious and expanding multi-academy trust that is passionate about delivering high-quality education and supporting the development of every member of its community. With a culture built on collaboration, support and continuous improvement, the trust provides an environment where staff are empowered to innovate, develop professionally and make a lasting impact. Joining the organisation means becoming part of a forward-thinking team that values teamwork, wellbeing and excellence. With exciting plans for future growth and a commitment to investing in people, this is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to develop their career within a supportive and purpose-driven educational environment. You will become an integral part of the already well-established, but developing IT team and have the opportunity to grow with the organisation. Your new role
As an IT Technician reporting to the IT Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day technology operations across a group of schools within a growing and collaborative multi-academy trust. Working closely with staff, pupils and the wider IT team, you will provide first and second-line technical support, helping to ensure that IT systems, devices and infrastructure remain reliable, secure and effective in supporting teaching and learning, as well as supporting ongoing IT projects. This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same. You will be responsible for troubleshooting hardware and software issues, supporting Microsoft 365 applications, maintaining laptops, desktops and classroom technology, assisting with network and wireless connectivity, and contributing to IT projects across multiple sites. The successful candidate will enjoy building positive relationships, delivering excellent customer service and playing an active part in the trust's continued investment in technology and digital innovation. The trust currently has 1 secondary school, plus 2 primaries, but with more joining next academic year, this is an exciting opportunity to lead on the IT provision across different sites, working closely with the IT Manager. Please note this role will be based across all sites in Liverpool.

    What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful, you will ideally have experienced providing IT support in a school, trust or college setting. You will have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365, troubleshooting of hardware and software and both a proactive approach and strong communication skills. As an IT Technician looking to take the next step in their career, you will have strong problem-solving skills, a willingness to learn and a collaborative approach to supporting users of all technical abilities. Please note, as this role will require travel to all 3, soon-to-be 4 sites, you must have your own vehicle and a valid UK licence.
    What you'll get in return
In return, you will be paid a competitive salary of between £30,000 and £33,000 dependent on experience, and you will also receive an excellent benefits package and a local government pension scheme. This includes a holiday entitlement of 28 days (plus bank), an extra wellbeing day, access to CPD opportunities and to an employee assistance programme. You'll join a values-driven trust that is committed to staff development, wellbeing and continuous improvement. You'll benefit from exposure to a diverse range of technologies across multiple school environments, giving you the opportunity to broaden your technical expertise whilst contributing to an organisation dedicated to helping both staff and pupils flourish.
