How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Strategic Finance Leadership for a Growing Business

We are seeking an outstanding Group Finance Director to join our leadership team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of a successful and growing privately owned business based in Lincoln.

Reporting directly to the Board, this is a high-profile appointment for a commercially astute, fully qualified finance professional who can provide strategic insight, robust financial leadership and support ambitious growth plans across the Group.

This opportunity would suit an experienced Finance Director, Group FD or Senior Finance Leader who has built their career within SMEs, owner-managed businesses or privately owned organisations, and understands the pace, agility and hands-on leadership these environments require.

Group Finance Director - The Role:

As Group Finance Director, you will be responsible for leading the finance function, providing strategic advice to the Board and ensuring the Group maintains strong financial performance, governance and control.

You will work closely with senior stakeholders across the business, helping to drive commercial decision-making, improve profitability and support both organic growth and future strategic opportunities.

Group Finance Director - Key Responsibilities:

    - Act as a trusted adviser and strategic partner to the Board

    - Lead all aspects of financial management, reporting and governance across the Group

    - Develop and implement financial strategies that support long-term business objectives

    - Provide insightful financial analysis and commercial recommendations to drive performance

    - Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cashflow management and financial planning activities

    - Ensure robust financial controls, compliance and risk management frameworks are maintained

    - Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement

    - Support investment decisions, business planning and growth initiatives

    - Manage relationships with external stakeholders including auditors, banks, legal advisers and investors where appropriate

    - Drive efficiencies, process improvements and the use of financial data to inform decision-making

Group Finance Director - About You:

    - A recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)

    - Significant senior finance leadership experience, ideally as a Finance Director, Group Finance Director or equivalent

    - A proven track record within SMEs, owner-managed businesses or privately owned companies

    - Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence and challenge at Board level

    - Experience leading financial strategy and supporting business growth

    - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

    - A hands-on approach combined with strategic thinking

    - Strong leadership capability with experience building and developing high-performing teams

    - High levels of integrity, professionalism and sound judgement

    Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to become a key member of the executive leadership team within a successful and ambitious business. You will have genuine influence over the strategic direction of the Group, working alongside an engaged Board and leadership team committed to continued growth and excellence.

    What We Offer:

    - Competitive executive salary

    - Performance-related bonus

    - Comprehensive benefits package

    - A Board-level position with significant influence

    - Long-term career opportunity within a successful privately owned business

    - Lincoln-based role with flexibility where appropriate

If you are a qualified finance leader looking for a Board-facing role where you can combine strategic leadership with commercial impact, we would be delighted to hear from you.

To apply, please submit your CV together with a brief overview of your experience within SME, owner-managed or privately owned businesses
