How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: Leeds
Salary: £45,000–£65,000 (dependent experience) + excellent benefits

    The Opportunity
A global consultancy in the built environment sector is expanding its Leeds team and is seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to support a growing pipeline of work. Following a successful 2026, which saw the business expand into new sectors and introduce additional service lines, the Leeds office is entering an exciting period of investment. You’ll deliver a blend of professional and project based surveying services across a variety of sectors; education, healthcare, private residential, housing, retail, industrial and local government properties, all within a culture that genuinely prioritises people, wellbeing and long term growth.

    What You’ll Do
Delivering a blend of professional services and project management across the Yorkshire and Northern region main duties of the role include:
•Carry out building surveys, inspections, condition assessments and technical reports
•Prepare specifications, design information and contract documentation
•Lead contract administration and monitor construction progress
•Support project delivery from feasibility through to completion
•Build strong client relationships and represent the consultancy professionally
•Share knowledge within the team and support junior colleagues
•Cross collaboration with internal departments to support business growth strategies.

    What You’ll Bring
•Degree in Building Surveying (or equivalent)
•MRICS preferred, or actively working toward chartership
•Strong technical understanding of building pathology and construction processes
•Clear communication skills and confidence in client facing environments
•A proactive, organised and collaborative approach

    Why This Role Stands Out
•Supportive culture where people look out for each other and you’re never just a name on a list
•Tailored development, including chartership support and training that fits your goals
•Real progression opportunities as the business grows, with room to specialise or explore new sectors
•Wellbeing that’s taken seriously, from counselling support to wellness initiatives
•Inclusive environment that values diverse backgrounds, perspectives and lived experiences
•Purpose driven work with a focus on social value, sustainability and positive community impact

If you’re looking for a role within a reputable consultancy that has an established presence in the Northern building surveying region, where you can grow, feel supported and work on meaningful projects, this is an excellent next step.
