How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Vision for Education is seeking a dedicated Pastoral Support Worker to work in a specialist school in Birmingham.

    About the Role:

    Provide pastoral, emotional, and behavioural support to pupils, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes.
    Build positive relationships with pupils and deliver one-to-one and small group interventions focused on wellbeing, confidence, emotional regulation, and social development.
    Work collaboratively with teachers, safeguarding leads, SEN staff, and families to support pupils attendance, behaviour, and personal development.
    From September, to support the creation of a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.

    The school supports pupils with a diverse range of additional needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, and associated learning needs.
    Staff are dedicated to fostering a caring, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every pupil is valued and encouraged to achieve their full potential. A strong emphasis is placed on pastoral care, wellbeing, and personalised support, ensuring that pupils are equipped to succeed both academically and personally.

    About You:

    Experience working with children or young people who display challenging behaviour, SEMH needs, Autism, or ADHD.
    A calm, patient, and resilient approach with the ability to build positive relationships quickly.
    Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
    Passionate about supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes and reach their potential.
    Previous experience as a Behaviour Mentor, Teaching Assistant, Youth Worker, Support Worker, or in a similar role is desirable.
