How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

The college provides excellent practical learning facilities and is dedicated to developing learners through hands-on experience, industry-focused teaching and an inclusive learning environment.

    The college is looking to appoint a permanent, full-time Lecturer in Animal Welfare & Management for an August Start. The successful Lecturer in Animal Welfare & Management will deliver engaging lessons across a range of full-time, part-time and short courses, tutor student groups, contribute to curriculum development, support practical learning activities and ensure learners are equipped with the knowledge and skills required for careers within the animal welfare industry.

    The successful Lecturer in Animal Welfare & Management will have:

    • A relevant qualification in Animal Welfare, Animal Management or a related subject
    • A recognised teaching qualification or the willingness to work towards one
    • Experience teaching or working within the animal welfare or animal management sector
    • Strong organisational, administrative and IT skills with the ability to manage learner progress and course administration
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and support learners
    • A commitment to safeguarding, health and safety, equality, diversity and inclusion
