How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: Lecturer in Land Based Engineering

    Salary: £30 - £38 per hour

    TeacherActive is proud to be working with a Further Education College in Warwickshire that is committed to delivering high quality vocational education in a supportive and inclusive learning environment. The college offers excellent facilities and practical learning opportunities, maintaining strong links with industry to prepare learners for successful careers within the land based sector.

    The college is looking to appoint a Lecturer in Land Based Engineering for an Immediate Start on a temporary basis with the opportunity to become a permanent member of staff. The successful Lecturer in Land Based Engineering will teach and support learners across a range of land based engineering programmes, delivering engaging lessons, assessing learner progress and helping students develop the practical skills and knowledge required for employment within the industry.

    The successful Lecturer in Land Based Engineering will have:

    • A minimum Level 3 qualification in a relevant discipline such as forestry, horticulture or agriculture
    • GCSE Grade A to C (or equivalent) in Maths and English, or the willingness to achieve these qualifications
    • A recognised teaching qualification or the willingness to work towards one
    • Previous experience teaching at the relevant level and subject is desirable
    • Strong administrative, organisational and IT skills with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
    • A motivated, adaptable and enthusiastic approach with the ability to inspire learners and achieve targets
