The Role
You will join a busy preconstruction team working on a mix of new build, refurbishment, alteration and fit‑out projects up to £20m. Work spans multiple sectors, including Education, Healthcare, Community, Industrial, Leisure & Retail and Commercial Buildings. Working hours: 8.30am – 5pm with 1 hour for lunch.
A key part of the role will include mentoring and supporting an Assistant Estimator, helping them develop their technical skills, commercial awareness and confidence within the team.
Responsibilities
* Preparing cost plans, tenders and estimates
* Leading the estimating process across multiple projects
* Working closely with design, commercial and operational teams
* Liaising with supply chain partners to secure competitive pricing
* Providing guidance and day‑to‑day support to an Assistant Estimator
* Supporting junior team members where required
About You
* Experienced Estimator within the construction industry
* Background working for a main contractor on new build or refurbishment schemes
* Self‑directed, organised and highly motivated
* Able to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
* Strong team player with good communication skills
