How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job title: UX Designer

    Role Type: Contract

    Length: 5 months

    Location: Birmingham (2 days per week)

    Summary

    Our client is looking for a UX Designer to help shape clear, accessible and user-friendly digital experiences across complex pensions and benefits journeys. You'll work closely with users, stakeholders and delivery teams to understand needs, simplify processes and turn insight into practical design solutions.

    Responsibilities:

    Plan and run user research, workshops and interviews to understand user needs, behaviours and pain points.
    Map user journeys and identify opportunities to improve, simplify and streamline the experience.
    Create wireframes, user flows and interactive prototypes to communicate and test design ideas.
    Support future-state process design alongside Business Analysts, ensuring solutions are usable, practical and aligned to business goals.
    Collaborate with Architects, Developers and delivery teams to ensure designs are feasible and implemented effectively.
    Use research, stakeholder feedback and usability insight to iterate and refine designs.
    Champion accessibility, usability and user-centred design throughout the project lifecycle.Key Skills:

    Proven experience in UX design, user research or a related digital design role.
    Strong understanding of user-centred design, information architecture, interaction design and usability principles.
    Experience producing wireframes, prototypes, journey maps and user flows using Figma or similar tools.
    Ability to translate complex business processes into simple, intuitive and accessible digital experiences.
    Confident facilitator with strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
    Comfortable working with Business Analysts, Architects, Developers and delivery teams in agile or project-based environments.
