How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    The Programme Manager will play a key role in managing technology-driven projects within the public sector, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and to a high standard. This position is based in Sheffield and requires a strong understanding of programme management methodologies and public sector operations.

    Oversee the planning and delivery of technology-related programmes within the organisation.
    Ensure that all projects align with organisational goals and public sector compliance requirements.
    Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project milestones are achieved.
    Monitor programme risks, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure successful delivery.
    Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and reports for senior management.
    Manage cross-departmental collaboration to ensure smooth programme execution.
    Champion the adoption of best practices in programme management methodologies.
    Evaluate programme outcomes and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
    Collaborate with communications team to deliver effective internal and external communications strategy, raising awareness of programme across organisation and to key stakeholders.Profile

    A successful Programme Manager should have:

    Demonstrable experience in managing complex technology programmes within the public sector.
    Strong knowledge of programme management frameworks and tools.
    Proven ability to manage stakeholders at various levels of an organisation.
    Excellent problem-solving skills and a results-focused mindset.
    Familiarity with compliance and regulations relevant to the public sector in Sheffield.
