How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Civil Engineer – Gloucester

    Are you a Civil Engineer looking to join a well-established, forward-thinking consultancy with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality engineering solutions?

    Our client is a respected multi-disciplinary consultancy with over 40 years of industry experience and three offices across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking to expand their Gloucester team with the addition of a Civil Engineer who is keen to work on a diverse range of exciting projects.

    Civil Engineering (Infrastructure)
    Structural Engineering
    Transport Planning
    Temporary Works
    Site Appraisals
    They work across a broad portfolio of residential, commercial, retail, and leisure developments, offering plenty of variety and opportunities for career progression.

    The Role

    As a Civil Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering infrastructure design solutions from concept through to construction. Your responsibilities will include:

    Producing detailed designs for highways, drainage and earthworks across a range of development projects.
    Preparing technical drawings and design information from initial concept through to construction.
    Undertaking Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs) and designing Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS).
    Working on Section 278, 38, 104 and 185 agreements.
    Supporting and mentoring junior team members, providing technical guidance and assisting with report writing where required.
    About You

    The ideal candidate will have:

    A relevant Civil Engineering degree.
    At least one year's experience in a Civil Engineering role.
    Experience preparing Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Statements/Strategies.
    Proficiency with AutoCAD and MicroDrainage, along with Site3D and/or Civil 3D.
    Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
