How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Astute's Power team is partnering with an energy company to recruit a Plant Manager / 11kV SAP for its Biomass site in Lincolnshire.

    The Plant Manager and SAP role comes with a salary up to £60,000 + benefits package.

    Responsibilities and duties of the Plant Manager role

    Reporting to the Operations Director you will:

    Take overall responsibility for the safe, efficient and compliant operation of the CHP plant.
    Act as the Senior Authorised Person (SAP) for high-voltage electrical systems and switching operations.
    Lead and develop operations, maintenance and engineering teams to achieve high performance standards.
    Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental and engineering regulations.
    Manage statutory inspections, Written Schemes of Examination and asset integrity programmes.
    Oversee planned outages, maintenance activities and contractor performance.
    Drive plant reliability, efficiency and availability through effective operational management.
    Manage site budgets, expenditure and operational performance against agreed targets.
    Ensure environmental permits and compliance obligations are maintained at all times.
    Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, efficiency and commercial performance.

    Professional qualifications

    We are looking for someone with the following:

    Fully qualified Senior Authorised Person (SAP) with HV switching experience (11kV minimum, 33kV desirable).
    Degree, HNC or HND qualified in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
    BOAS Manager accreditation and extensive experience managing industrial boiler and steam systems highly desirable, or relevant hands on experience
    Strong knowledge of statutory regulations including PSSR, LOLER, DSEAR, PUWER, Electricity at Work Regulations and Environmental Permitting requirements.
