How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Group Chief Financial Officer (Manufacturing)
    Location: Chester
    Working Pattern: Full-time | 5 days per week on-site
    Salary: - To be discussed on call

    Our client is a growing manufacturing business seeking an experienced and commercially focused Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their executive leadership team.
    This is a key strategic role, responsible for leading the finance function, driving business performance, and supporting the continued growth of the organisation.
    The Group CFO will provide strategic financial leadership across the business, ensuring strong financial governance while partnering with operational and commercial teams to improve performance and support long-term growth.
    The role requires regular collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders across UK and North American time zones.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Lead the company's financial strategy, planning, budgeting and forecasting.
    • Deliver accurate financial reporting, analysis and performance insights.
    • Drive profitability, cash flow and working capital improvements.
    • Partner with operations to optimise manufacturing performance, costing and margins.
    • Oversee financial controls, compliance, audit and risk management.
    • Support capital investment decisions, business growth and strategic initiatives.
    • Lead and develop the finance team while driving continuous improvement and system enhancements.
    • Month-end/quarter -end close and reporting.

    About You
    • CCAB/ ACCA or equivalent
    • Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role within manufacturing or a similar industry.
    • Strong commercial acumen with experience supporting operational businesses.
    • Excellent knowledge of financial planning, reporting, manufacturing finance and business partnering.
    • Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
    • Experience with ERP systems and financial process improvement.
    • Experience of international reporting.
    • Strong work ethic with a hands-on approach.
    • Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
    • Comfortable working across transatlantic time zones.
    • Commercially minded, collaborative and solutions focused.
