How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Commercial Vehicle Welder / Fabricator

    Permanent Contract

    Location: Chesterfield

    Hours: 07.30 to 16.30 Mon - Thurs (30-min lunch break) & Fri: 07.00 to 12.30

    Hourly Rate: £13.50-£15.00ph + (negotiable depending on experience)

    Higher earning potential: There is extensive overtime available:

    Overtime & contract work is as & when. Overtime is usually taken in form of an hour per day. Then contract work is usually carried out Friday afternoon and weekends. Overtime is 1.5 x hourly rate & contract is an agreed price for the job.

    Our client, as industry leading Commercial Vehicle Manufacturer is recruiting for an experienced fabricator to work within our in-house fabrication centre, capable of fabricating and making assemblies and fitting components alongside strong welding capabilities.

    The company is Approved by the British Assessment Bureau for ISO9001 Quality Management & has accredited DVSA Whole Type Approval since 2018.

    The Role

    * Welding / Fabrication of parts, using drawings

    * Steel & aluminium fabrication, welding and shaping

    * Fabricating and making assemblies and fitting components

    * Mig and/ or steel Tig welding Working to a high standard

    The Successful Individual

    * Must be competent in fabrication and used to working with aluminium & stainless steel. This role will involve a varied mix of fabrication & welding and will also include vehicle assembly work, all dictated by the demand at that time.

    * You should have the ability to weld steel and aluminium in various gauges and be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

    * Able to follow drawings / Fitting instructions

    * Prior knowledge of using machinery such as guillotines, brake presses and punching and shearing machines would be advantageous but not essential

    * Will have experience in automotive industry
