How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Automation Test Lead

    Central Leeds | Hybrid (3 days/week onsite)
    £60,000 - £70,000 + Excellent Benefits Package + EV Scheme

    We're working with a growing consultancy that delivers large-scale web applications and digital platforms for well-known public sector and enterprise organisations across the UK.

    As they continue to invest in their engineering capability, they're looking for an Automation Test Lead to drive automation strategy, lead a talented QA team, and help embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

    This Automation Test Lead is a hands-on leadership role with genuine influence over automation frameworks, testing standards and QA best practice across a diverse portfolio of digital projects.

    The Role

    Lead, mentor and develop a team of QA Engineers
    Own and evolve the automation testing strategy
    Design and enhance automation frameworks using Selenium or Playwright
    Collaborate with Software Engineers, Product Owners and stakeholders to embed quality throughout the SDLC
    Drive automation maturity, CI/CD integration and continuous improvement

    About You

    Strong background in software test automation
    Commercial experience with Selenium or Playwright
    Experience designing and implementing automation frameworks
    Previous leadership or mentoring experience (or ready to step into a Lead role)
    Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
    Consultancy or client-facing software delivery experience would be advantageous
