How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are supporting a growing organisation within the automotive sector in hiring a skilled Paint Development Engineer. This role will act as the in-house paint specialist, leading paint development activities, driving quality and process improvements, supporting supplier development, and ensuring world-class aesthetic standards across products and manufacturing operations.
      
    The Paint Development Engineer will:

    Lead the development, testing and approval of new colours, coatings and finishes.
    Apply IATF 16949 methodologies, including PFD, PFMEA, QCPC, FPDR and TPDR, to support robust process development and quality improvement.
    Set, implement and maintain aesthetic paint standards across internal and external manufacturing operations.
    Lead process and facility improvement activities to support Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD) objectives.
    Provide technical expertise in painting, powder coating, electro-deposition and paint application processes.
    Support paint application activities across a range of substrates including ABS, aluminium, steel and carbon fibre.
    Work closely with suppliers to improve processes, quality performance and manufacturing capability.   
    The Paint Development Engineer will have:

    Proven experience within paint development, paint manufacturing, paint process engineering or supplier development environments.
    Strong knowledge of painting, powder coating, electro-deposition and paint application techniques.
    Experience working with materials including ABS, aluminium, steel and carbon fibre.
    Strong understanding of IATF 16949 methodologies, including PFD, PFMEA, QCPC, FPDR and TPDR.
    A strong manufacturing background, with experience working closely with suppliers and supply bases.
    A technical or engineering qualification, ideally in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
    Excellent stakeholder management, communication and supplier development skills.
