How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

We are currently looking for a Cost Engineer to join a leading manufacturer of motorcycles based in the UK. This role will play a key part in ensuring accurate product costing, validating supplier quotations and driving continuous cost optimisation across new and existing vehicle programmes.
It’s an excellent opportunity for an experienced cost specialist with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and complex vehicle assemblies, who enjoys working cross-functionally within a fast-paced engineering environment.

    The Cost Engineer will:
Prepare should-cost calculations and cost estimates to validate supplier quotations for technology parts and build-to-print components.
Support cost negotiations in collaboration with the Purchasing team.
Provide target cost estimates and evaluations throughout new product development.
Analyse material costs, tooling investments and assembly costs.
Set up and maintain foreign exchange and raw-material commodity indexation matrices.
Support make-versus-buy assessments, sourcing strategies and supplier negotiations. The Cost Engineer will have:
A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Automotive or Manufacturing Engineering, or a Finance qualification (CIMA, ACA, ACCA).
Significant experience in cost engineering, product costing or should-costing within an OEM or Tier 1 manufacturing environment.
Experience within premium vehicle, automotive, motorcycle, motorsport, aerospace or complex sub-assembly manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing engineering processes, including machining, die-casting, forging, composites and vehicle assembly operations.
Experience assessing tooling costs, manufacturing investments and production cost drivers.
The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, BOMs and technical specifications. This role offers the opportunity to take a key position within a highly respected engineering organisation, influencing cost strategy across innovative and premium vehicle programmes. If this opportunity sounds like a good fit, please apply online with an up-to-date copy of your CV and a member of our team will be in touch
