How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Operating nationwide, they work with prestigious customers across Data Centres, Defence, Telecommunications and other high-security facilities, delivering technically challenging projects to the highest industry standards.

    Following significant business growth and continued investment, they are now looking to appoint a Fire Alarm Design & Estimator to support the next phase of expansion. Having successfully placed several engineers and a Project Manager into the business, we've received consistently excellent feedback regarding the company's culture, leadership and long-term opportunities.

    The successful candidate will take ownership of the design and estimating function, producing compliant Fire Alarm system designs for high-profile projects while supporting the wider business with technical expertise.

    * MOD & Defence Facilities

    * High-Security Commercial Environments

    * Proven experience designing Fire Alarm systems

    * Previous estimating or tendering experience would be highly advantageous

    * Leadership experience or the ability to mentor and support junior design staff

    * Excellent communication and organisational skills

    * Full UK Driving Licence

    Experience with Gas Suppression systems would be highly advantageous, however training can be provided for the right individual.

    This position would suit a Fire Alarm Design Engineer, Fire Systems Designer, Design Engineer, Estimator, Design & Estimating Engineer, Senior Fire Alarm Designer or an experienced Technical Manager looking to join a growing specialist business delivering some of the UK's most prestigious Fire Protection projects.
