How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Your responsibilities will include:

Producing accurate engineering drawings and models using CAD software.
Supporting the preparation, revision and coordination of design drawings throughout project lifecycles.
Ensuring all drawings comply with company CAD standards, industry best practice and client specifications.
Using standard details, templates and design information to prepare engineering drawings efficiently and accurately.
Working within established quality procedures and design processes.
Managing your workload to meet project deadlines while accurately recording time spent on tasks.
Using ProjectWise and other document management systems to manage project information.
Updating drawings following design reviews and incorporating technical feedback from the wider design team.
Supporting engineers and senior technicians with a variety of design and project-related activities.
Continuously developing your technical knowledge through mentoring, training and practical project experience.

2–3 years' experience using CAD software within an engineering environment.
Understanding of engineering drawings and drafting principles.
Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate, high-quality work.

Knowledge of engineering drawing standards and CAD best practice.
Experience using ProjectWise or similar document management systems.
Exposure to Civil 3D, Revit or other 3D modelling software.

    What You'll Bring

You'll be someone who enjoys working in a team, takes pride in producing accurate technical work and is committed to developing your engineering career. You'll demonstrate:

Strong technical aptitude and enthusiasm for learning.
    Excellent attention to detail.
    Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
A collaborative approach to working with engineers and designers.
Good planning, organisation and time management skills.
A positive attitude and commitment to continuous professional development.

    Why Join Us?

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a growing team delivering projects that support the UK's critical water infrastructure. You'll work on meaningful engineering schemes, receive ongoing support from experienced professionals and benefit from clear career development opportunities, flexible working arrangements and a competitive salary and benefits package.

If you're looking for a role where you can build your skills, contribute to essential infrastructure projects and grow your career within a forward-thinking engineering consultancy, we'd love to hear from you
