How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Working Arrangements: Hybrid Working

    Special Projects Fire Safety Advisor – Overview

    * An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Special Projects Fire Safety Advisor to join a leading social housing provider on an interim basis. This role will provide technical leadership across a large residential portfolio, supporting the assessment, investigation, and remediation of complex fire safety risks associated with external wall systems.

    * The successful candidate will act as a trusted technical expert, providing specialist advice on fire safety compliance, supporting funding applications, contributing to legal proceedings, and helping to deliver safer homes for residents.

    Special Projects Fire Safety Advisor – Key Responsibilities

    * Provide expert fire safety advice across a portfolio of high-risk residential buildings.

    * Act as the subject matter expert on external wall systems and fire risk in line with PAS 9980 and current industry guidance.

    * Review and interpret complex fire safety reports, including FRAEWs, Fire Risk Assessments, façade investigations, spandrel panel assessments, and cavity barrier surveys.

    * Provide clear recommendations to support risk mitigation and remediation strategies.

    * Support the delivery of large-scale building safety investigation programmes across multiple buildings.

    * Work closely with Contract Managers to ensure surveys and investigations are technically robust and fit for purpose.

    * Ensure consistency, quality, and compliance across fire risk assessments and reporting.

    * Provide assurance that fire safety risks are accurately identified, recorded, prioritised, and managed.

    * Support audit processes and engagement with regulatory bodies.

    * Work alongside legal teams to support claims relating to defective external wall systems.

    * Review technical evidence and provide expert input into liability and non-compliance cases.

    * Provide technical support for Cladding Safety Scheme applications and other funding streams.

    * Review and validate technical submissions, ensuring compliance with funding requirements.

    * Advise senior stakeholders, project teams, consultants, fire engineers, and regulatory bodies on fire safety matters.

    * Support communication with residents and key stakeholders where required.

    Special Projects Fire Safety Advisor – Applicant Essentials

    Essential

    * Strong background in fire safety within housing, construction, building safety, or a related environment.

    * Extensive knowledge of external wall systems and fire risk assessment methodologies.

    * Experience reviewing FRAEWs and other complex fire safety reports.

    * Strong understanding of the Building Safety Act, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order, and PAS 9980.

    * Experience supporting remediation programmes and managing building safety risks.

    * Ability to interpret complex technical information and provide clear, practical recommendations.

    * Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

    * Experience working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.

    Desirable

    * Experience supporting Cladding Safety Scheme funding applications.

    * Knowledge of legal processes relating to building safety and defective external wall systems.

    * Experience working within a social housing provider.

    * Relevant fire safety qualifications and/or membership of a recognised professional body.
