How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    What if you could join a business where people rarely leave?

    A company that genuinely trusts its employees, offers real flexibility, invests heavily in your development and gives you the autonomy to do your job without being micromanaged.

    Imagine working on some of London’s most prestigious commercial fit out projects while being part of a commercial team where people build careers measured in decades, not years.

    If that sounds like the kind of environment you have been looking for, keep reading.

    I am currently partnering with an international market leader specialising in the design, manufacture and installation of raised access flooring. They are recognised across the industry as one of the biggest names in their field, delivering high-profile commercial fit out projects throughout the City of London with many of the UK’s leading Tier One main contractors.

    Their contracting division generates around £35 million in annual turnover, but what makes this business truly stand out is not its size.

    Despite operating on a global scale, they have never lost the culture that made them successful in the first place. They have retained the feel of a family business, where people are treated with respect, trusted to make decisions and encouraged to develop their careers.

    Their staff turnover is exceptionally low. In fact, the only time I usually have the opportunity to recruit for them is when somebody retires. That alone says more about the business than any list of benefits ever could.

    As their next Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of the full commercial lifecycle across prestigious fit out projects, including:

    * Procurement of subcontractors and materials

    * Pricing and agreeing variations

    * Preparing and submitting applications for payment

    * Producing monthly CVRs

    * Cost reporting and commercial management

    * Negotiating and agreeing final accounts

    Sometimes the best career move is not chasing a bigger salary. It is finding a company where you are valued, supported and still excited to come to work five years from now.
